Nominations for Alumni Service Awards

Deadline extended to Monday, February 6th. Get your nominations in.

The Shimer College Alumni Association is now accepting nominations for the 2012 Alumni Service Awards. The Awards pay tribute to alumni who exemplify the College’s motto Non Ministrari Sed Ministrare (Not to be served, but to serve).

Nominate someone you know by submitting the official nomination form online or mail the print version. Please make sure to address how the nominee has exemplified the College’s motto and in what areas. Nominations must be received by February 1, 2012.

Nominees should exemplify the College’s motto Non Ministrari Sed Ministrare in one or more of the following areas.

• Service to Profession - Alumni who have advanced their field or profession, brought credit to their career, and reflected positively upon the College.
• Service to Community - Alumni who are committed to public service through which they have helped to better society or improve communities locally, nationally or internationally
• Service to Shimer College – Alumni who are dedicated to realizing a vibrant future for the College through philanthropy, educational excellence, volunteerism, leadership or exceptional staff support.

Alumni who are eligible for nominations as a candidate:

• Must have matriculated at the College and earned credit toward a degree;
• Must not have received an Alumni Service Award previously; and
• Must be able to participate in the awards celebration.

Recipients of the 2012 Alumni Service Awards will be announced in the spring and honored at an awards dinner to be held on Saturday, May 5, 2012 in Chicago, Illinois.
