Barbara Stone Named New Dean of the College

Beginning this Fall semester of 2011 Barbara Stone succeeds David Shiner as Dean of the College. David has agreed to assist in an Associate capacity. Barbara has been with the college since 1985 and now assumes a third term as Dean.

Barbara admitted to an “irritating, nagging...fear of boredom,” but she was sure that wouldn’t be a problem this year. She added that she agreed to be the Dean because of her confidence that Shimer’s growth “is no longer in the future; it is here and now."
