Congratulations to the 2011 Shimer College Poetry Contest winners.
First place was shared by Michael Anderson for his poem Caricature 3: Of the Union Mathematician I Now Sing... and Pablo Otavalo for his poem I'm sick of love. The judges also awarded honorable mentions to Michael Doherty for Progress and Dinah Gums for Control.

The Shimer College Poetry Contest is sponsored by the Academy of American Poets and cash prizes are funded by an endowment from Shimer alumnus Peter Cooley ('62). Peter is a poet, as well as Professor of English and Director of Creative Writing at Tulane University.
