Making Blankets for Project Linus

On Tuesday, March 30th, Shimer community members were invited to an in-service day, making blankets for Project Linus. Project Linus is comprised of hundreds of local volunteer chapters who work together to donate handmade blankets to children in hospitals. The goal is to provide a sense of security, warmth, and comfort to children who are seriously ill or traumatized.

Community members gathered in the Cinderella lounge and made no-sew fleece blankets of various colors and designs, with some of the favorites being the dinosaurs and monkeys. Those volunteering listened to music, snacked, chatted, and just had a good time while giving back to the community.
