On Thursday, March 18th at 7pm, Shimer welcomes Gary Johnson, President of the Chicago History Museum to campus as part of its Spring Lecture series. Mr. Johnson will be speaking about Chicago’s Own Abe Lincoln: How Another President Prepared for the White House in Chicago.
Gary Johnson has an undergraduate degree in History and Political Science from Yale University, an MA in Modern History from Oxford University where he was a Rhodes Scholar, and a JD from Harvard University. Mr. Johnson, a lifelong Chicagoan, spent 28 years as a lawyer and partner at Chicago offices of two global law firms before bringing this vast experience and his passion for Chicago history to the Chicago History Museum in August 2005.
